On September 26,2024, the highly anticipated「Maker In China」 International SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Hong Kong regional finals successfully concluded at Hong Kong Cyberport. Representatives from Wave Computing Novation Limited were present to observe and learn from the exciting content of the competition.
The top ten projects in this competition covered cutting-edge technology fields prioritized by national development, including several focused on artificial intelligence and third-generation internet technologies, such as「FinTech」,「Artificial Intelligence and Big Data」,「Advanced Network Equipment」,「Third-Generation Internet and Metaverse」 「Advanced Manufacturing」,「Biotechnology」and 「Smart Living」.These projects demonstrated how startups leverage high-tech innovations to enhance productivity, optimize social life and business operations, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of life for the public.
In a fierce competition, KOKOXILI won the championship with its world-leading integrated photonic chip technology. This technology boasts advantages such as high speed, large bandwidth, low latency, and low energy consumption, making it widely applicable in various fields, including AI, 5G/6G, quantum technology, autonomous driving, low-altitude economy, and smart cities.
Following closely was HIGHSOLVE which focuses on the research and development of Electron Beam (EB) irradiation technology. The company has achieved deep application and industrialization in areas such as material modification, sterilization and disinfection of food and medical devices, and environmental management. By developing core components and system integration, HIGHSOLVE has advanced innovations in modern industrial technology.
The third place, MICROFLOW is dedicated to applying its advanced 「bar code」 cell sensor AST microfluidic platform and hydrogel-based AST microfluidic platform in complex clinical cases and drug development. This work promotes research on antibiotic-resistant bacteria and accelerates the commercialization of rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing platforms, aiming to optimize healthcare, food safety, and environmental monitoring.
The purpose of the 「Maker In China」 competition is to promote the integration of four key areas: the combination of innovative technologies and enterprises, the synergy of implemented projects with industrial parks, the collaboration of market operations with government policies, and the establishment of collaborative innovation platforms and upgraded service platforms. This platform encourages project integration within the industrial chain, facilitates collaborative innovation, and enhances overall competitive advantages.
